Laemmle’s writing is the end result of throwing centuries of our world’s most resonant storytelling into a pot and boiling it until all the noisy particulars evaporate, and only the essentially human remains.

Bio

N.T. Laemmle is a fraternal triplet born between identical twin brothers. Steeped from birth in a century-spanning lineage of local arthouse film exhibitors, his rich cinematic upbringing infuses his work with solidness, intention, and a scene-minded narration. His B.S. in Natural Resource Management from Cal Poly SLO directly informs his depiction of Nature throughout his works, and lends his writing a unique ecological flair. Inspired by novelists as far-ranging as Steinbeck to Tom Robbins, Henry Miller to Dostoyevsky, Laemmle’s work vacillates seamlessly from earnest to cynical, comical to tragic, all tied together by a deep love of story and a keen eye for what makes us human. After nearly a decade of refining his craft in private, letting his three novels, two novellas, and dozens of short stories gather dust on the proverbial shelf, he is finally ready—and deeply excited—to begin sharing his creations with the world.

On a personal note…

Aside from literature, Laemmle is passionate about dogs, baseball, camping and backpacking, cooking, trains, and bicycle commuting. (An LA native, he has never owned a car.) He has spent many months abroad in countries such as Cambodia, Ecuador, and the Netherlands, and finds much of his artistic inspiration in learning about new cultures, so that he might better understand his own. He is currently living as a digital nomad while exploring Latin America—always searching for (and hopefully finding!) new sources of inspiration for future stories.
